What you need to know about the current global refugee situation

Presently as of 2020, there are 70 Million people displaced from their homes. This is the highest number of displacement record in human history.

Around 30 Million refugees are children, making the entire situation even more alarming and urgent. This means millions are stateless people, and have been denied a nationality and access to basic rights such as education, healthcare, employment and freedom of movement.

We wake up everyday with a roof over our heads together with food and water in abundance. This is the reality refugees dream of. So, it is only human decency to help them make our reality their reality too.

As a Singaporean, why should I help the Black Lives Matter movement?


Being Singaporean does not make us exempt from aiding the Black Lives Matter cause. This is not up for debate at a time where silence is compliance with the aggressor.

Standing against the
death of George Floyd and the heartbreaking list of names that have preceded his own has profound ramifications. It is not just decrying racist violence, it is about exposing systematic racism and holding power structures accountable. No matter where you are in the world, this is a fight to level the fields of humanity, and that matters.
